Cryptocurrency markets are heavily correlated and full of downside tail risk. While there are many tokens competing to achieve the highest positive growth during these periods, virtually none of the projects plan for the opposite, extreme contraction during market cycles.

Blackswan maintains stability not only during market growth cycles but unleashes growth during contractionary market periods with the aim to move as an anti-fragile asset or uncertainty index.

Introduction

Before we get into the guide, I highly recommend reading over the Blackswan Whitepaper, checking out some of our YouTube videos and taking a look at some of our other Medium articles. Blackswan is exciting, however it can be hard to understand, so if you have any questions during your research process, we highly recommend reaching out in our Telegram community.

While a majority of our users likely have experience with BSC and or Ethereum, for many this may be their first experience with Polygon / Matic. Matic, while seemingly complex at first, is very similar to the aforementioned chains as it is EVM compatible. This means that popular extensions such as Metamask support Matic just as easily as BSC or other chains.

You will notice when you start using Matic that transaction fees are extremely low, and even just $1 dollar worth of Matic can go a very long way. This is one of the amazing benefits of the chain, and is important to keep in mind when deciding how much Matic you are going to purchase.

Setting Up MetaMask

MetaMask is a popular extension that gives your browser access to web3. If you do not already have it installed, you can go to your browsers respective extension platform and install it there.

If you are using an existing BSC or Ethereum address from a 3rd party wallet, you can try to import your private keys into the extension or create a new wallet on MetaMask and transfer your funds.

To add Matic’s Mainnet, click on the Network selection dropdown and then click on Custom RPC.

It will open up a form with 2 tabs on the top, Settings and Info. In the Settings tab you can add Matic Mainnet in the Network Name field, URL https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com/ in the New RPC URL field, 137 in Chain ID field, MATIC in Currency Symbol field and https://polygonscan.com/ in Block Explorer URL field.

Once you’ve added the information click on Save. You will be directly switched to Matic’s Mainnet now in the network dropdown list. You can now close the dialog.

Getting Your Tokens Onto The Matic Network

Unfortunately, Matic is a competing network to BSC, and thus Binance does not allow for direct withdraws to the Matic Network. There are however other exchanges that allow direct withdraws such as MEXC and others (although they tend to have fees).

This may be an easier option if you would like to avoid using a bridge, however bridges at times can be a more optimal solution.

If you have MATIC or other tokens you would like to send to the MATIC network already in your Ethereum or BSC wallet, a bridge can be a great tool. Matic has an official bridge, however currently it is only for Ethereum.

The bridge can be found here: https://wallet.matic.network/bridge.

You are able to select the token and the amount you would like to transfer, and after the transactions have gone through, your tokens will be on the Matic network.

If you are looking for a BSC solution, xPollinate is a popular platform that can help bridge stablecoins such as USDC, DAI, and USDT.

After you bridge the assets, you can use a MATIC faucet in order to receive some MATIC and use a DEX like Quickswap or perform other functions.

Purchasing Blackswan $SWAN

After the July 9th launchpad sale, Blackswan $SWAN will be listed on the Quickswap DEX, which is a fork of Uniswap. This means that it is extremely similar if not exactly the same as Uniswap V2 or Pancakeswap.

The Blackswan trading pair will be USDC/SWAN. The token address will be announced the day of the listing.

Conclusion

There are plenty of great resources on Polygon / Matic that you will immediately feel familiar with such as Aave, Quickswap (A fork of Uniswap) and more. We hope this guide has allowed you to get setup for Blackswan and all of the exciting innovation to come!
